Overview

United States Cold Storage (USCS) is one of the largest public refrigerated warehouse operators in North America, with roots dating back to 1889. A subsidiary of the UK-based Swire Group, USCS operates more than 40 temperature-controlled facilities across 13 states, offering over 400 million cubic feet of frozen and refrigerated warehouse and distribution space. It serves food manufacturers, CPG companies, retailers, and foodservice distributors — ranging from major national brands to emerging food businesses.

Warehouse operations include multi-temperature storage, layer and case picking, blast freezing, cross-docking, repacking, and import/export inspection services (USDA and FDA). Many facilities feature advanced automation including automated storage and retrieval systems. USCS runs a COLDshare Consolidation program that combines LTL shipments from multiple manufacturers into full truckloads for delivery to retail destinations, a widely used service across its network. Facilities are equipped with the company's eWMS platform, which manages inventory control, order processing, and distribution workflows.

Logistics teams rely on USCS for inventory visibility, outbound order and shipment data, and consolidation program scheduling. The eWMS provides real-time warehouse data, and USCS also offers weekly analytics tailored to customer needs and end-to-end product tracking. This data — covering inventory positions, order fulfillment status, and distribution timing — is central to coordinating cold chain logistics across the company's nationwide footprint.
